Tanapag PCB Site
The Tanapag PCB ("polychlorinated biphenyl") site was actually a collection of sites in the village of Tanapag where transformers and containers of PCB had been discovered. The PCB ("polychlorinated biphenyl") contaminated soils were excavated and treated at what is now the Tanapag Cemetary. PCBs pose a threat to both human health and the environment. The source of the PCB was found to be from the Post-WWII era, and prior to the formation of the CNMI.
